what a day....

Can I just say...wahoooo...school starts on Monday. I mean I love my little "angels" but yippee!! Today I spent the day rearranging their lovely bedrooms...which means one hour in the Gavster's room and four in Kenz's. Luckily Maddie is still in our room. She has been one fussy baby today...the other two were pretty good. They just kept asking when they could play Wii and when we were going creek walking. Now my original day plan (when the rain was coming down and the house was still sleeping) was to enjoy a lovely book day. Ha. I spent my day cleaning. Fun Fun Fun...And now...now that I'm done with their rooms the little monkeys have gone up stairs to play...figures. But they are having a room inspection before bed!

Coffee...

Okay so I have been neglecting my blog here for a few days. Not on purpose..well okay I've been addicted to facebook lately. Can't help it...its fun! Anyway...Kids and sleep... My darling little five year old just doesn't want to sleep...which makes mommy a very tired person. Now that the baby, Maddie, is sleeping through the night, Kenzie just doesn't seem to want to sleep or keeps waking up. I've tried a radio, night light, regular light, fan, cute stuffed toys, angel toys, books, a bottle of water...etc. And the girl still wakes up. So not sleep as much as she should she is one moody little diva...unless the camera is out and then its all smiles and poses...my little camera ham!! Any and all ideas to get her to sleep through the night or similar stories let me know....

But for now...

All hail the power of coffee!!! So the kids have done some funny stuff the past couple of days that I will blog about in a later post. But for right now I am just going to sit back with my coffee and try and get my brain to function!!

Fireworks...

A belated Happy Independence Day to those who reside with me in the good ol' US of A. Yesterday was full of fireworks! Around here people started setting them of at about 7pm. The kids LOVED it!! Kenz was a jumping bean on the porch...and of course she doesn't have a small voice but a loud one and was YELLING at the top of her lungs "Look another one and another one." We are on the second floor of our apartment and well I thought she was going to jump off the porch. I had to keep calming her down. Now my science junkie of a son, Gav, kept asking how they made that shape and how did they have different colors...etc.. The boy is FULL of questions. Thank god for Myth Busters and the Discovery Channel!! We had answers!! And Maddie (the baby), her eyes couldn't have gotten any bigger she LOVED the red ones. She was even coooing and goooing!!!!!!!! So here are a few of our 4th pics!! Enjoy!!

Kid Art...

My son is super excited that M. Night Shyamalan is doing the Last Airbender Movie. Now for those of you whose kids watch NICK or read the books it will always be AVATAR: The Last Airbender. He drew this picture the other day.

Now my daughter all of a sudden while doodling faces drew Perry from Disney's Phineas and Ferb. That square blue thing with the tail is Perry or so I was told. The rest are her doodles...apparently she didn't like the one girl she drew.

Fight, Lie, Play Innocent...

Okay so my son (he's eight) and my daughter (she's 5) have been having issues with each other lately. She's bothering me...He's not sharing...You know normal sibling rivalry. Well my darling son gets rough with my daughter and when she tells, he says she's lying. He didn't do anything. Well I'm not deaf or blind and certainly not stupid, hell I have a little brother myself, so when those eyes come out (and moms you know the eyes I'm talking about) I can tell he's lying. So it takes but three minutes for me to get him to tell the truth. You would think by now he would know I can hear them fight. I can see the facial expression and know who is telling the truth and I remember the crap I tried to pull with my mom when I fought with my little brother. And I catch him or her if its her every time....but no we still fight, lie, and play innocent.

Questions?????????

It seems that the questions never stop. Every time I turn around one of my kids is asking a question. It doesn't matter if they know the answer they ask anyway. Or if they don't get the answer they are looking for they keep asking!

"Why is the baby's poop green?"
"Where are we going today?" (this is asked as soon as one gets out of bed)
"Can we go to the park?" (mind you they ask this on rainy days)
"Why is that this color?"
"Why do you have to do that?"
"What does that mean?"
"Do I have to have a baby in my belly when I get older?"
"Why can't boys breastfeed? They have boobies too."
"Why do we have to go to bed?"
"Do we have to eat that?"
"Can we have a snack now?" (This just after they say they are full and can't finish their dinner!)
"Why does the baby have to keep crying?"
"Why won't she leave me alone?" (my son on his 5 yr old sister)
"Why are there stars?"
"Can we go to the moon today?"
"Do we have to take a bath?"
"Why are their bees?"

And my list goes on and on......Questions 24/7
